Yannick Alléno named Executive Chef for Orient Express Train and Corinthian
Orient Express has appointed Michelin-starred Yannick Alléno as Executive Chef for the Orient Express Train and Orient Express Corinthian sailing yacht.
This collaboration marks a milestone in the brand’s history, combining its timeless heritage with the best of French culinary art.
With his Michelin ratings and avant-garde career path, Alléno transformed the prestigious Pavillon Ledoyen in Paris into the world’s most starred independent establishment in 2014. The lauded chef utilises traditional French techniques combined with a modern and innovative vision of gastronomy.
By joining Orient Express, Alléno redefines the culinary experience for travellers, offering them a journey of the senses that celebrates elegance, sophistication and taste, all in the heart of unforgettable destinations.
Aboard two restaurant cars of the Orient Express Train and on the sailing yacht Orient Express Corinthian, which will house five restaurants, including La Table de l’Orient Express by Yannick Alléno, he offers exclusive menus inspired by the terroirs crossed and the unique landscapes of each journey.
“Orient Express embodies travel in its noblest essence, and it is an honour to bring my vision of cuisine to this iconic universe, steeped in history,” explains Alléno. “Each menu, each plate, is an invitation to discover my personal interpretation of culinary heritages from around the world, and of course from France, for an extraordinary experience aboard the legendary Orient Express.”
“This collaboration with Yannick Alléno reflects Orient Express’s ambition to surround itself with the greatest talents to create a unique experience of travel and discovery,” adds Sébastien Bazin, Chairman & CEO of Accor Group. “By becoming the culinary soul of the train and ship, Chef Alléno brings not only his creativity and keen sense of innovation, but also a philosophy of gastronomy that he will share in different ways, so that each restaurant has its own identity. This modern, multi-faceted approach blends perfectly with the brand’s values of excellence, sophistication and escape.”
Orient Expresss is set to welcome its first hotels around the world with the opening of Orient Express La Minerva Rome in spring 2025 and Orient Express Palazzo Donà Giovanelli in Venice in 2025. The luxury travel experience will continue with the launch of La Dolce Vita Orient Express in 2025, followed by Orient Express Corinthian in 2026, the first of two Orient Express Silenseas ships.
