Vakkaru Maldives is offering guests the chance to get a booster shot with a difference this January. The luxurious resort has launched its ‘Vakkaru Booster’ cocktail, to be administered in the idyllic surroundings of its overwater Lagoon Bar.
The tongue-in-cheek cocktail contains a delicious-sounding but medically-questionable combination of gin, Licor 43 and ginger and lemongrass foam. Deep turquoise in colour, the concoction is presented as part of an elaborate setup that includes a mock-IV drip, a toy syringe and a spiky, virus shaped glass on the side.
The Vakkaru Booster, which follows the successful roll out of the venue’s original ‘Vakkaru Vaccine’ cocktail last year, looks like the perfect antidote to the winter blues. It is the latest new launch from the Lagoon Bar, which recently added a 10-seat teppanyaki table to its offering. The laidback eatery specialises in sushi and sashimi, steak, seafood, and organic grilled vegetables, served with views of the Indian Ocean.
Located in Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve renowned for its spectacular sea life, Vakkaru Maldives is situated on a secluded reef island. The property features 113 overwater and beach villas, beachfront dining and an overwater Merana Spa.
