A lazy lunch with a view doesn’t come much better than at Grand Sable, the brand new al fresco restaurant at Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury in Mauritius. With an unbeatable beachfront setting, an enticing Mediterranean menu and a clutch of guest chef spots scheduled over the coming months, it’s set to become a Grand Baie summer must-visit.
Revered Michelin-starred Alan Geaam leads the charge with a three-day mini residency commencing on 24 October to mark the restaurant’s opening. The Lebanese chef – a staple and convivial face on the Parisian culinary scene since 1999 – is teaming up with William Girard to bring a special menu inspired by his home country to the Beachcomber’s pristine, sugary shores.
A delicious assortment of hot and cold mezze will feature (think creamy houmous, crunchy tabbouleh and mouth-watering moussaka) alongside a selection of his favourite desserts including sweet baklava, nutty mafroukeh, and silky mouhalabieh, a speciality Middle Eastern milk pudding.
Open to both guests of the hotel and residents of the island, Grand Sable is an exciting addition to the already iconic address that’s renowned for its unparalleled attention to detail. Expect memorable meals served up with panoramic vistas of endless, crystalline waters.
