Nobu is heading to Rome to launch its first hotel – and its second restaurant – in Italy. The global hospitality brand is expected to make its debut in the capital in the summer of 2022.
Nobu Hotel and Restaurant Roma will be located in the city’s transformed Grand Hotel Via Veneto, and the project is a collaborative effort with Carlo Acampora, the Chairman and CEO of the hotel. “I am deeply honored to have Nobu as a partner because we share the same values of quality, service, and excellence,” commented Acampora. He added: “The extraordinary experience that Nobu Roma will offer is what Romans and international tourists deeply need and we are all aware of the great responsibility that awaits us towards our future guests.”
A 122-key property will offer a combination of luxurious hotel rooms and energised living spaces. Guests will also have access to a green rooftop terrace, indoor and outdoor meeting space, a full-service city spa and a state-of-the-art fitness centre. The onsite Nobu Restaurant will serve up the brand’s signature Japanese dishes fused with a Peruvian twist in a 24-hour in-room dining offering.
The launch is the latest in a string of new openings from Nobu Hospitality, the lifestyle brand founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper. A statement from the trio read: “Rome is the gastronomic hub of the world and the ideal location for the Nobu brand.” They added: “We share many values with Carlo, especially on the significance of hospitality. Rome is an extraordinary mix of high culture, the arts, fashion, and historic architecture. And so, we are honored now to be able to be a part of the Eternal City through this thrilling opening!”
