Toronto-based Design Agency has reimagined the ground floor at Hilton Toronto with Frenchy, a Parisian-inspired bar and brasserie that serves as the lobby’s buzzy epicentre, generating a warm sense of hospitality.
The brasserie’s elegant oval-shaped bar adapts throughout the day from coffee to cocktails. Lounge and dining areas feature deep banquettes and armchairs, providing a range of seating options, while an eye-catching mural and botanical light fixtures offer memorable visual feasts. The team reclad the building’s dark concrete columns with painted wood panels, fine mouldings and plaster for a lighter look with brass sconces accenting and softly illuminating the space.
In the bar lounge, a series of custom statement chandeliers evoke floating botanicals, simultaneously creating a showstopping moment and a more intimate feeling. Botanical and abstract patterns decorate furniture and floors, harmoniously juxtaposing modernity with romanticism. Overlapping rugs and a mix of seating in luxurious textures add depth and give the large space a warm, residential feel.
Lined with lacquered cabinets showcasing Frenchy’s wine library, the private dining room offers an opulent setting for meetings, tastings and special occasions. Frenchy’s saturated palette of deep red, modern floral upholstery, warm woods, and polished stones balances decadence and refinement, lending Frenchy an air of exuberance.
