Bertie’s launches at The Stafford London
Bertie’s has launched at The Stafford London, in the heart of historic St. James’s.
Located in the hotel’s secluded cobbled courtyard in Blue Ball Yard, the seasonal food and drink offering will offer a menu of freshly prepared treats for on-the-go indulgence, a quick health kick or a leisurely light bite.
In collaboration with Chef Anshu Anghotra of The Gelato Kitchen, the menu will include fresh smoothies and juices, hot drinks, crêpes, dosas, artisan gelato and seasonal specials. Smoothies will include the blue spirulina and ashwaganda with optional pouri supplements like collagen and whey protein or creatine for an added health boost.
Working with some of the best chefs in London and beyond, Anghotra became obsessed with the idea of crafting the perfect Italian style gelato. After an inspirational trip to Florence, it was very clear that all the gelato had to be made on site, in small batches with fresh fruits and no artificial flavourings. The quality of ingredients used was key to producing the best gelato and he started to use milk and cream completely unhomogenised from Estate Dairy, unrefined sugar cane and natural flavours.
These will sit alongside freshly squeezed orange juice and speciality teas, coffees and hot chocolates. Homemade crêpes will feature toppings such as Sorrento lemon and sugar or strawberry and maple. The signature gelato options will include both classic and creative flavours such as bronte pistachio, tiramisu and alfonso mango. Those looking for the ultimate treat can opt for a crêpe and gelato bundle.
With Bertie’s launching just in time for the festive season, the first seasonal special will be mulled wine.
