AHEAD Europe has revealed the top hotel F&B destinations on the continent at its 2021 awards ceremony.
The 2021 edition of the Awards for Hospitality Experience & Design results recognised conceptual, aesthetic and functional breakthroughs across the European region. The November 19 awards ceremony was held live at Evolution, London, in a ‘Blitz Kid Black Tie’-themed event.
Bertie’s Bar, the glamorous whiskey bar at The Fife Arms Hotel in Braemar, Scotland, was crowned the winner of the Bar, Club or Lounge category. Judges applauded the fact that there was “no detail left aside, from the personalised whiskey bottle to the logo and bill slip.” The venue, which was named in honour of King Edward VII, emulates storytelling through its authentic design.
The Restaurant award was scooped up by The NoMad Restaurant at NoMad London. The space features a landscaped atrium capped with a towering glass ceiling that floods the dining area with light. The judges complimented the restaurant’s “clever use of space which gives guests a great arrival experience.”
NoMad London was in fact the big winner of the ceremony, taking home the a grand total of five awards. The property also beat off the competition in the categories of Event Spaces, Hotel Conversion, Lobby and Public Spaces and AHEAD Europe Hotel of the Year. Other big winners included The Pater Noster Lighthouse in Hamneskar, Sweden, and Cervo Mountain Resort in Zermatt, Switzerland.
The winners, who took home bespoke trophies in hand-blown glass, designed and manufactured by Lasvit, will go on to compete against other regions. The worldwide champions will be crowned at the next AHEAD Global edition.
