Sapling Spirits, the climate-positive spirits brand, introduces its new Regenerative Vodka.
The release sets a new benchmark in sustainable spirits, produced in partnership with chef and farmer Julius Roberts. The vodka champions regenerative farming, focusing on rebuilding soil health, enhancing biodiversity and capturing atmospheric carbon, resulting in a carbon-negative product.
Regenerative wheat is grown in Kent without insecticides or fungicides and fertilised naturally. This closed-loop system, combined with low-carbon koji fermentation, keeps the entire production process within a one-mile radius, reducing its environmental impact. The result is a spirit with rich tasting notes of caramel, citrus and chocolate orange with earthy, buttery undertones.
Sapling’s Regenerative Vodka is bottled in its signature gold leaf design, symbolising a commitment to sustainability.
Founded by Ivo Devereux and Ed Faulkner with a mission to lead sustainability in the spirits industry and bring positivity and joy into everyday life, the inspiration for Sapling Spirits came while working on a community tree planting project in Scotland.
Faced with the challenge of planting many trees with insufficient manpower, the pair transformed the project into a music festival, combining tree planting by day with partying by night. It was during this event that they identified a market gap for a spirits brand dedicated to protecting our planet.
Sapling Spirits also offers London Dry Gin and wonky raspberry vodka. The company’s commitment to sustainability is built on four key pillars: reforestation, packaging innovation and waste reduction. For every bottle sold, Sapling plants a tree capable of absorbing between 1 and 1.5 tonnes of CO2 over its lifetime.
To date, it has planted 263,000 trees, with an ambitious goal of reaching 1 million trees by 2027. Additionally, through B2B and B2C refill schemes, Sapling has prevented the production of over 280,000 bottles.
