Mayfair hotel Claridge’s has paired up with the luxury design brand Summerill & Bishop on a limited-edition collection of table linens for autumn.
The landmark hotel and the Notting Hill-based designers launched the playful collection, which draws inspiration from Claridge’s Art Deco design, earlier this week.
The series includes an oversized tablecloth and matching napkins, each made from 100% linen and covered in a vibrant pattern referencing the hotel’s statement checkerboard lobby. The pieces are available in a black and white colourway that reflects the famous monochrome floor, with sage green and powder blue options also available.
“Something special happens when you sweep across the marble floor of Claridge’s lobby,” comments Seb Bishop, CEO and Creative Director of Summerill & Bishop. “Your gaze is met by the iconic black and white pattern in an instant as you tread across 165 years of history. The lobby is an everlasting symbol of classic Victorian architecture, so our design had to reflect this.”
He adds: “Claridge’s is truly the epitome of timeless glamour and we’re so proud to share this new table linen collection with friends who strive to be the best possible hosts, just as much as we do.”
“Claridge’s has been the quintessential host for over 150 years,” notes Paul Jackson, General Manager of Claridge’s. “From elaborate balls and society weddings to dinner à deux, nothing is more important to us than creating an exquisite setting, crafting a moment that will leave a lifetime of memories. This collaboration celebrates Claridge’s place at the heart of hospitality with Summerill & Bishop’s unique modern style, and the art of bringing people together around the table.”
