World of Nobu set for Four Seasons Hotel Doha
Chef Nobu Matsuhisa will host his annual culinary festival at the new-look Four Seasons Hotel Doha, it has been revealed.
The decision to bring World of Nobu to Qatar represents a major coup for the property, which is due to reopen this month following an extensive refurbishment by Pierre-Yves Rochon. The event will take place at Nobu Doha, currently celebrating its fifth anniversary, on 25-26 March 2020.
The renowned chef will be joined by eight counterparts from Nobu venues around the world, including Hervé Courtot (Nobu Hotel Barcelona), Antonio D’Angelo (Nobu Milan) and Masaru Okayama (Nobu London Old Park Lane). Members of the public can now buy tickets to the following:
- Sushi masterclass – 25 March – Matsuhisa will lead a hands-on sushi masterclass, introducing attendees to the fundamentals of Japanese cuisine and culture.
- Seven-course omakase – 25 March – Matsuhisa will present a seven-course World of Nobu omakase, with each course prepared by a different Nobu chef, accompanied by an optional wine or sake pairing.
- Grand Nobu celebration – 26 March – Each Nobu chef will man their own cooking station on the rooftop, serving up an array of Japanese-fusion light bites and treats, alongside an open bar.
Spanning 26,000 ft² across three levels, Nobu Doha is the world’s largest Nobu restaurant. The spectacular Rockwell Group-designed venue first opened its doors on 17 April 2015.
Last year, Matsuhisa spoke exclusively to Supper about how he has built up a global hospitality empire, explaining that “I don’t ever want to cook without heart, without passion”. The chef also discussed the challenges involved in opening restaurants across different markets at the launch of his new venue in Cyprus.
