W Maldives is playing host to Portugal’s food and music festival Chefs On Fire, marking the first time the event has been held in Asia.
The festival will kick off on 1 November 2023, lasting until 5 November. A series of dining events will be led by Michelin-starred Chef Alexandre Silva, alongside music performances by a Lisbon-based artist.
Running since 2018, Chefs On Fire invites international chefs to cook solely with fire, smoke and firewood. Chef Alexandre Silva will present his unique perspective on these techniques, drawing on expertise honed at the helm of two celebrated Lisbon restaurants, Loco and Fogo.
Known for its commitment to sustainability, the festival will continue its green ethos at W Maldives, with a policy of zero plastic, spotlighting of local produce and firewood replanting.
“We are very thrilled to collaborate with Chefs On Fire to bring their famed food, fire and music festival our shores,” said Alexander Lopez, Resort Manager of W Maldives. “Their commitment in providing a distinctive experience with sustainability in mind, perfectly matches with W Maldives’ stance in creating inspiring and meaningful activities for our guests.”
