Nordelaia welcomes Chet Sharma for seasonal chef series
Lorto, the destination restaurant at Nordelaia, located among the rolling hills of Piedmont, Italy – brings back its seasonal chef pop-up series for the third year.
Working closely with resident Chef Charles Pearce, guest chefs create one-off seasonal menus, available for just two nights. The 2025 series kicks off with Chet Sharma, the chef behind BiBi, London’s innovative Indian restaurant.
Since opening in 2021, Lorto has been showcasing its vegetable-based cooking in a region renowned for traditional, meat-based dishes. Translated as ‘the vegetable garden’, Lorto serves food from the restaurant’s abundant kitchen garden and trusted producers in the area.
Each season, Piedmont offers an abundance of native herbs, vegetables and flowers, allowing for seasonal menus that encourage guests to return for a fresh experience with each visit. Over the years, guest chefs have been selected not only for their distinctive cooking styles but also for their shared commitment to using hyper-seasonal, local produce and supporting small artisanal producers.
Pearce and Sharma are joining forces for an avant-garde dining experience at Lorto, creating a bold fusion of Indian and Italian cuisines. Pearce redefines traditional Italian flavours with a departure from classic Piedmontese dishes, championing conscious vegetable-based dining, while Sharma reimagines Indian flavours with contemporary techniques.
Throughout the evening, both chefs personally visit each table, introducing themselves and their inspiration for the evening ahead. To complement each course, a carefully curated wine pairing enhances the experience.
