Glenmorangie House hosts weekend with Joel Harrison and Neil Ridley
Glenmorangie House, the boutique hotel in the Scottish Highlands, is hosting an exclusive weekend event honouring the darkly decadent single malt Scotch Glenmorangie Signet and the newly introduced expression, Glenmorangie Signet Reserve.
Under the expert guidance of drinks writers Joel Harrison and Neil Ridley, guests will experience a two-night stay at Glenmorangie House, featuring a meticulously crafted itinerary that will bring the flavours and stories of Glenmorangie Signet to life. The programme includes a private tour and tasting at Glenmorangie Distillery during the chocolate-malt production week, providing an exclusive glimpse into the process.
Later, decadent dining is inspired by the Scottish Highlands, while a guided Signet tasting is paired with Signet-infused truffles. A mixology masterclass, coffee and chocolate tasting and sherry masterclass offer further experiential elements. The event is rounded off with a guided walk along the coast to the ancient Cadboll Stone and a fireside Signet Reserve tasting in the garden’s sunken fire-pit.
Nestled along on the Easter Ross Peninsula, a stone’s throw from the wild Moray Firth, Glenmorangie House invites guests to step into the world of Glenmorangie single malt whisky. In collaboration with interior story makers Russell Sage Studio, the 17th-century building was recently reimagined as a sensory playground, bringing to life the single malt whisky’s story. In October this year, it was awarded a Michelin Key.
Inspired by the rich, dark flavours of freshly brewed coffee, Glenmorangie’s creators embraced a darker, bolder profile with the 2008 release of Glenmorangie Signet. This whisky owes its character to Glenmorangie’s chocolate malt spirit—a first in the whisky world.
Aged in a mix of bourbon, sherry and new oak casks, balanced by some of Glenmorangie’s oldest stocks, Signet was named World Whisky of the Year by the International Whisky Competition in 2016. Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden expanded on this vision with Signet Reserve, a limited edition matured for an additional 12 months in Pedro Ximenes sherry casks, adding notes of chocolate truffles, toffee, fudge and tiramisu.
