Parisian brasserie Frou Frou has made its Middle East debut at the new The Lana Promenade, Dorchester Collection.
Developed by Bulldozer Group, Frou Frou plans to infuse the heart of Dubai with the glamorous golden days of early 20th-century Paris. DesignFit has been appointed as lead consultant and fit-out contractor. The concept by Yodezeen has been realised through vibrant interiors that exude European opulence, with stacked marble sculptural elements inspired by Greek goddesses.
On entering the expansive dining room, guests are welcomed by a triple-height barrel-vaulted ceiling adorned with textured paint. Elsewhere, traditional 20th-century parquet flooring is reimagined with contemporary flair, blending 25 carefully selected materials. The rich high gloss wood and exquisite-coloured stones come together to form a design that extends across the 457 square metre interior. Plush custom carpet, designed by Yodezeen, is artfully laid on the mezzanine and outside terraces.
At the centre of the venue stands a wine cellar surrounded by a green marble bar. Featuring a double-sided vertical arch, the piece is inspired by the shapes and motifs found across Paris during the Art Deco period. The design features a custom door portal that uses the same multi-coloured stone as the flooring. Playful Parisian elegance is further realised through large chandelier lighting. A modern take on the frivolity of the 20th-century period, each shade features cascading tassels. To top it off, rich furnishings of bold artworks and antique ornaments complement greenery from strategically placed trees, connecting the indoor and outdoor spaces.
