Saicho, a non-alcoholic single-origin sparkling tea brand, is introducing a fresh take on tea products with a focus on quality ingredients and innovative techniques.

The British brand aims to redefine the art of tea-making, crafted using a low-temperature steeping process that extracts delicate aromatics without over-extracting the bitter and astringent compounds, resulting in a clean, crisp, and complex flavour profile.

The drinks are then delicately sparkled to enhance the natural aromatics of the tea, resulting in a flavour profile that is both refined and effervescent.

Saicho sources high quality teas from the gardens around the world. There are 3 tea expressions in its range: Darjeeling, Jasmine and Hojicha, each with a set of distinct flavour characteristics, unique to the respective regions in India, China and Japan.

The product is packaged with the designs of birds, flora and fauna that are native to each country of tea origin, with the aim to promote as much interest and provenance as premium wines and champagnes and celebrating the flavour of tea and where is comes from.

Saicho uses single origin tea, hand picking the exact varietal, time of harvest, location, terroir, altitude and processing methods. Each is cold brewed for up to 24 hours, to extract the most delicate and complex flavours. The teas are then finely balanced by a hint of sweetness, using natural grape juice and dash of acidity.

Saicho believes in celebrating quality ingredients and as such use a clean and transparent production method, proudly producing a tea that is vegan friendly, sulphite free, low calorie and with no added artificial sweeteners or preservatives.

Saicho Hojicha sparkling tea has tasting notes of roasted chestnut, hazelnut and nori seaweed. Pairing suggestions include Sushi and Seaweed.

Meanwhile, the Jasmine offering has tasting notes of apple, lychee and vanilla, to match spicy salads and creamy desserts.

Saicho Darjeeling is reminiscent of mandarin, ginger and wood spice, pairing well with roasted meats and vegetables.
