Rusacks St Andrews introduces exclusive whisky lounge

Rusacks St Andrews, the flagship property of the Marine & Lawn brand, introduces an exclusive whisky lounge created in partnership with distillers Brown-Forman.

Celebrating the rich heritage of Scottish golf and whisky, Room 116 offers an experience featuring rare Glendronach collections, a distillery renowned for its Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky which has been crafting sherried single malts for nearly 200 years.

The opening comes amid booming whisky tourism in Scotland, a country home to 151 distilleries as of May 2024. “The Glendronach is one of Scotland’s oldest licenced distilleries and one of the world’s most exceptional, richly-sherried Single Malts, so this is a hugely fitting collaboration, combining our legacy with Rusacks St Andrews which is steeped in golfing history and prominence,” comments Marketing Director at Brown-Forman Beverages Europe, Emily Richardson. “The new offering will be an opportunity for guests to discover The Glendronach in an outstanding setting, combining celebrated whisky, a world renowned golf course and the best of Scotland’s hospitality.”

With bespoke packages and personalised tastings, Room 116 provides a fully curated experience. The lounge overlooks the 18th green of the legendary Old Course and the Fife coast, featuring vintage furnishings, a bespoke bar, and custom shelving showcasing a unique whisky collection, including archive casks no longer available for purchase.

This addition further elevates the hotel’s food and beverage program, led by Scottish chef Billy Boyter, who oversees venues such as 18, The Bridge, and One Under Bar. “Rusacks St Andrews is excited to be the UK flagship for The Glendronach, a partnership celebrating the rich heritage of both brands,” says Phillip Allen, President of Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts. “We’ve also created a signature cocktail, the ‘Marine & Lawn Manhattan’, exclusively available at all Marine & Lawn properties for a limited time, debuting at the AIG Women’s Open Championship in August.”
