Monkey Island Estate, the luxurious private island hotel located on the UK’s River Thames in Bray, is kicking off 2023 with the launch of an onsite cooking workshop programme.
The historical estate – whose history stretches back 800 years and has seen numerous monarchs, aristocrats and performers pass through its premises – is offering guests the opportunity to learn how to prepare timeless British cuisines with classes led by the property’s kitchen team responsible for its modern brasserie menu.
Ideal for small to midsize groups of up to 30 people, the private cooking workshops will include the guest’s choice of a three-course menu and a one-hour tutorial on how to prepare each dish. Participants will be able to explore local cuisines, cooking dishes such as Cornish crab topped with ruby grapefruit gel, Creedy Carver chicken breast and even dessert, with options including spiced poached plum with chocolate mousse. Post-tutorial, guests will be served their creations to enjoy in the surroundings of the hotel.
Workshops can take place in the restaurant kitchen with dinner served in the private dining room, or for more bespoke groups, within the hotel’s Private Residences, Long White Cloud or Lavender House, which have their own kitchen and dining room.
