Swish London cocktail bar Sweeties at The Standard has launched a glamorous new drinks offering of amplified classics.
Created by Zoe Burgess – The Standard, London’s new beverage consultant and founder of independent drinks consultancy Atelier Pip – the new concept draws on the sensory experience at Sweeties, combining vision of colour and music to match the energy of the venue. The lively concoctions bear alluring names used to represent the playful interaction between guests.
Menu highlights include the sultry All Yours – a crisp combination of Japanese whisky, green tea, honey, and sticky rice vinegar topped with soda – and the fiery Hot Lips, a subtle smoked cocktail with moorish umami and aromatic heat, featuring Mezcal Espadin, pickled hot peppers, spiced tomato juice, and smoked salt. The launch is also accompanied by the addition of a brand new neon light installation at Sweeties, giving a contemporary twist to its existing decadent décor.
“Welcome to my world of flavour creation, where the familiar is unfamiliar, classics are magnified and it’s time to be playful,” says Burgess. “With this in mind, the cocktails needed to fizz and feel frivolous. No heavy intellectualising here, just a moment of hedonism, indulgence, letting loose, and escapism.”
