Nestled in the heart of Alnmouth village, The Whittling House, a new boutique hotel and restaurant, is set to bring a fresh wave of luxury to Northumberland when it opens this autumn.
The property, which is a joint project between renowned North East chef and restaurateur, Richard Sim, who runs the Michelin Guide-featured Potted Lobster in nearby Bamburgh, and Kelso-based entrepreneur, Tom Leslie, is expected to open in mid-October.
Encompassing 10 luxurious bedrooms, an elegant restaurant showcasing the very best local produce and a well-appointed bar, the hotel has been designed by Edinburgh-based design studio Ampersand Interiors.
Commenting on the opening, Tom Leslie says: “Our vision for The Whittling House is to make it a must-visit destination for those coming from outside the area, and a regular treat for those lucky enough to live nearby – a perfect place to indulge in fine food and drink while soaking up the stunning surroundings.”
“We’re delighted with how all our ambitious plans are coming together and are incredibly excited to welcome our first guests later in the autumn,” adds Richard Sim. “We want The Whittling House to be a beacon for the best of Northumberland’s food and drink producers – serving up fine dining for all occasions.”
