Quinta do Lago has reopened its Casa do Lago restaurant, following a £1.25million renovation.
The resort’s newly transformed seafood restaurant, situated lakeside in the heart of the Algarve, now exhibits a refreshed, nautical feel, emulating the blue water that can be seen from table view.
As part of the renovation, a completely new menu has been introduced, with option appealing to families and large groups.
“We are delighted to reveal Casa do Lago’s brand new look from this most recent refurbishment,” comments Sean Moriarty, CEO of Quinta do Lago. “We have been using this unexpected quiet period throughout Covid-19 to upgrade parts of our resort which were due for a bit of modernisation and invest in particular areas to enhance guest experience.
“Casa do Lago is ideally situated centrally, right by the water’s edge, and its new design evokes a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. We cannot wait for our guests and residents to experience it.”
Designed by local studio Essencia Architects, the restaurant’s new look preserves the original restaurant’s spirit whilst generating a relaxed and elegant atmosphere.
The main entrance has been enhanced with a larger doorway and wooden decking which runs through the whole venue. This lends a welcoming feel, whilst playing on the nautical theme that has always characterised Casa do Lago.
The internal bar has been relocated to the entrance, inviting guests to sit and relax upon arrival, whilst also enhancing a natural flow between the hallway and bar.
The smaller dining room now features wooden panelling, as well as long mirrors on the ceiling to create an additional sense of space. Two large fish tanks and seafood display units further animate the room, whilst hand-woven palm fish, made by local craftswomen, hang from the ceiling.
In order to expand on the outside areas, the swimming pool was removed from the terrace and replaced with two smaller cascading water features. An outside bar and seating area is sheltered by a pergola, and a new garden extension has been introduced to the background.
Despite remaining as a seafood and fish destination, Casa do Lago has welcomed a few enhancements to its menu.
These include a brand new ‘specials of the day’ option and light snacks that will be available at the exterior bar.
The classic fare will be complimented by an alternative new sharing menu comprised of Pestiscos – high-end tapas and traditional Portuguese cuisine. Those looking to celebrate can also enjoy oysters and champagne which will be complimented by live jazz music during the early evenings.
