Norwegian brand Nuet Aquavit has announced it will give some of its profits to support local initiatives for bars and restaurants that are struggling amidst the Coronavirus crisis.
The brand, which offers a modern take on quintessentially Scandinavian aquavit, has pledged to donate £2 (NOK 26) from each bottle of Nuet Dry Aquavit sold.
“It’s a pretty desperate situation for bars and restaurants at the moment,” comments Founder Morten Pharo Halle. “Whilst governments have implemented great efforts to help individuals that are laid off, the situation is still dire for their employers.”
“All spirits brands are dependent on the survival of our fantastic local bars, pubs and restaurants. Nuet Aquavit is still a small company, but that’s beside the point. We need to do whatever we can, and so should others. Every little helps.”
The initiative will be ongoing until bars and restaurants open up again in the UK and Norway.
